Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse the products and when you see something you would like to buy just click on the 'buy' button and the item will be added to you shopping cart. If you want to add more products just click on their 'buy' button and these will also be added to your shopping cart.

When you have finished making your selection, click on "Checkout". You will be guided through the secure checkout and payment process where you will be asked for a few details so that we can complete and dispatch your the order. As this is a secure area you may find that the website runs slightly slower - this is quite normal.

Amending Your Purchase Choice

If you change your mind and don't want to buy something you can easily delete it from your shopping cart. Click 'View Shopping Cart" and in the right hand column marked 'Select' click the small button against the item you don't want, click 'delete' at the bottom of the column and the item will be removed from your shopping cart.

Payment

On-line shopping payment is made using the PayPal on-line system, arguably the largest and most secure e-commerce system in the world today. You can use your PayPal account or any of the major credit and debit cards. If you are buying form outside the UK PayPal will automatically convert £ sterling to your local currency.

Alternatively, if you don't wish to use PayPal or a credit card you can still purchase Alumen products by cheque if you have a UK bank account - please contact us at customerservices@alumen.co.uk and we will advise you how to proceed. Please note that cheques must be cleared before products are despatched and this may delay you receiving your goods.

Credit Card Security

All credit card numbers are encrypted before transmission using industry standard 128 bit security encryption. Credit card numbers are not held in clear text on any web site.

Shipping

We aim to dispatch all products within 3 working days of your order being placed. The cost of shipping is calculated according to the destination and weight of your order and will be advised as part of the checkout process.

Within the UK we ship by Royal Mail First Class Recorded delivery (or similar professional couriers) and for your security require a signature on delivery - you should receive your purchase within 2-3 days.

Within Europe we ship by Parcelforce recorded delivery (or similar professional courier services) and for your security require a signature on delivery - you should receive your purchase within 5-7 days.

We can also ship outside Europe and for this we use Parcelforce International Economy services. This is the least cost prohibitive service available but is not tracked and can take up to 60 days, depending on the final destination.

If you would like a faster, guaranteed delivery outside Europe then please contact us by email at customerservices@alumen.co.uk before making your purchase and we will make specific arrangements for you.

Stock Availability

Occasionally delays may be experienced due to stock availability and if we are unable to dispatch goods promptly you will be notified by email. If your product is not in stock we will back order for you.

Tax

All orders include value added tax at the current rate.

Privacy Policy

We do not disclose buyers' information to third parties except to enable selected partners to complete our service to you. We will only disclose your personal information, without notice, if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: Conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process; Protect and defend the rights or property of BDA Alluma Ltd; Act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of other site users.

Cookies

A 'cookie' is a small piece of information sent by a web server to a web browser, which enables the server to collect information from the browser. It does not contain any personally identifying information. We use cookies to keep track of the item in your shopping basket. However, if you do not want to use them, most internet browsers will permit you to turn them off. If you choose not to receive cookies, you may experience problems when using this site.

Returns Policy - UK Customers

Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 ("the Regulations"), UK customers have the right to cancel an order placed with us within 7 (seven) working days of receipt of the goods, This does not include items that have been personalised or made to your specifications; items that you have unsealed; or cost of carriage. The Regulations are designed to protect consumers when buying products over the internet as opposed to in person in a shop.

To cancel an order under the Regulations you must notify us in writing by first-class post or e-mail, quoting your name, address and contact telephone number. Our Company Details and address for postal notification of cancellation, any written complaints, and for returning goods is:

The effect of the Regulations is to allow a UK customer to withdraw from the contract as if it had not been made. However, there are certain important conditions and limitations. These are: -

Cancellation must be in writing, by first class post or e-mail. A telephone call is not sufficient.

You must return the goods to us AT YOUR EXPENSE (including all packaging, product boxes, etc.) unopened and in exactly the same condition in which the goods were supplied to you. This means that you must not destroy or dispose of the packaging in which the goods are supplied until you know that you do not intend to return the goods. Proof of purchase will be required for all refunds. If no proof of purchase is available, an exchange or a credit note will be offered.

Please note that proof of posting is NOT proof of receipt. You are liable for the goods until they are delivered to us, and we will not reimburse you until the goods are returned to us in good (fit for resale) condition. We strongly advise you to use Royal Mail Special Delivery or other insured and tracked delivery service for this

If goods returned to us are found to be damaged, we will not refund any money. We will tell you this in writing by letter or e-mail. The goods will then be kept at our premises for 90 days from the date of that written notice, after which time we will dispose of them without any further notice to you. You may collect the goods from us before the expiry of the 90-day period, if you wish, or you may pay us to return them to you as long as you tell us in writing before the expiry of the 90-day period.

ANY GOODS RETURNED TO US ARE NOT OUR RESPONSIBILITY UNTIL DELIVERED TO OUR WAREHOUSE. WE ACCEPT NO LIABILITY FOR DAMAGE IN TRANSIT.

We therefore recommend that you use the Royal Mail Special Delivery service to return goods to us. This service is available from any Post Office, and provides a guaranteed next working day delivery, with a signed receipt, plus insurance of up to £250, for a very reasonable cost.

Please contact us to discuss a possible return BEFORE you send anything to us.

These conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
